Picup, part of the Karooooo Group, is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a SAIPA professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants exposure to financial reporting, taxation, reconciliations, budgeting, audits, and operational finance.
Job description
- Managing and reviewing the weekly driver payments process.
- Preparing cash flow reports and daily bank balances.
- Preparing sales and purchase invoices, journals, and cashbooks.
- Performing bank, creditors, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing VAT reconciliations, VAT201 submissions, and VAT audits.
- Preparing provisional tax calculations, IRP6 and ITR14 submissions.
- Assisting with annual financial statements and external audits.
- Supporting the annual budgeting process.
- Maintaining inventory and sales records for the internal shop.
- Providing support and guidance to the wider Finance team.
Minimum requirements
- SAIPA qualification or SAIPA articles completed (highly preferred).
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Audit experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of VAT, tax submissions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Navision or a similar ERP/accounting system will be advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on individual who takes ownership and thrives in a collaborative environment.
