Position Overview: As an Audio Technician at Viva Afrika, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio equipment to ensure optimal sound quality. A key aspect of this role involves using an oscilloscope and signal generator to analyze and troubleshoot audio signals, ensuring precision and clarity in all audio output.
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Audio Equipment Setup and Operation: Confiure, and operate audio equipment, including DSP processing wrelels microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and speakers, for various events or studio sessions.
- Signal Analysis: Utilize an oscilloscope to monitor and analyze audio signals, identify issues, ensure accurate signal transmission and signal generator.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with audio equipment, signal paths, and sound quality using oscilloscope readings and other diagnostic tools.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of audio equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of work done, job cards and maintenance activities.
- Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and regulations in the setup and operation of audio equipment.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 of experience as an Audio Technician or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using oscilloscopes and other audio diagnostic tools. Familiarity with audio equipment and signal processing techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of audio setup and analysis.
- Flexibility: Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio editing software.
- Knowledge of various audio standards and protocols.
- Certification in audio technology or related fields.
