Job description
Responsibilities:
- Edit and post-process video footage, including cutting, splicing, adding effects, graphics, and sound to produce polished final products. (Note: you will be tasked with a substantial amount of editing-focused work.)
- Set up and operate video cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and other necessary tools for video shoots.
- Collaborate with creative teams, or project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Look for appropriate subjects, locations and opportunities without requiring a budget- you make things happen. A visionary that can communicate a message without all the bells and whistles.
- Assist in planning and storyboarding video concepts to ensure the desired outcome is achieved.
- Connect with people, build a community and tell impactful stories.
- Understand how to captivate and communicate with our target audience.
- Ensure video content aligns with the brand's style, message, and marketing objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, equipment advancements, and video editing software to improve skills and techniques continuously.
- Proactively test new ideas and different messaging to find the secret recipe for success.
- Work alongside the marketing team to bring a vision to life, analyse creative performance and implement new ideas for improvement.
- Manage and organise video files and equipment to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, delivering completed videos on schedule.
- Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during video shoots or post-production processes.
- Research to stay up-to-date with trends and successful creative strategies.
- Manage and complete other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
- Good understanding of photographic principals.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- A degree or diploma in film, media production, cinematography, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to connect with people
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs
- Excellent knowledge of video editing software e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and post-production techniques
- Experience working with/ knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop preferred
- Proven professional shooting experience
- Understanding of cinematography principles, composition, and lighting techniques
- Proficient with traditional and modern equipment
- Video interest and experience a HUGE plus
